Husband and wife Doug and Alicia Zabrocki were co-owners and directors of The Pilates Center of the Southwest in Scottsdale, Arizona from 2002-2007. In May of 2007, they moved back to Chicago to join us here at Body Endeavors. In Arizona, the Zabrockis’ operated as the Power Pilates Affiliate Training Center for the Southwest region, and bring to Chicago their great wealth of knowledge and integrity about Pilates and Teacher-Training. Currently, Alicia and Doug work with clients and are Teacher-Training at Body Endeavors, the Power Pilates studios inside Equinox Fitness Clubs and at their own studio, Gourmet Pilates, Inc.
Just as the work of Joseph Pilates creates balance in the body, Doug and Alicia practice this approach to their relationship, business and life. We could not be more thrilled than to have the Zabrocki’s here with us as a part of our Chicago team!

Alicia Zabrocki - POWER PILATES TEACHER TRAINER

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Alicia’s background includes 10 years of competitive gymnastics and an accomplished professional modern dance career. She received her B.F.A in Dance from the University of Illinois.

After having knee surgery, she was introduced to Pilates upon completion of physical therapy. Pilates awakened her to her own weaknesses and imbalances from habitual patterns from years of training in gymnastics and dance. Alicia was inspired by this experience and decided that she wanted to learn to teach. In 1997, she trained in the Classical method and certified with Master-Teacher, Romana Kryzanowska. Early in her Pilates career she became a leader in the industry by taking positions as supervisor of apprentices at The Pilates Studio of the Midwest and manager of Fitness Foundations Pilates studio in Chicago. After moving to Arizona in 2001, she took her role as a leader to the next level by opening The Pilates Center of the Southwest in 2002 with her husband Doug, and becoming a Power Pilates Teacher-Trainer.

Alicia has trained several high-profile personalities and athletes, including, Sarah Ferguson ‘Duchess of York’, John Olerud of the New York Yankees, Jim Jackson or the Phoenix Suns, and Betsy King of the Women’s Professional Golf association. Her years of dedication and commitment to the craft of Pilates are widely recognized and appreciated!

Doug Zabrocki - POWER PILATES TEACHER TRAINER
Born and raised in Minnesota, Doug has over 20 years of education and experience in the Fitness and Wellness industry. Doug originally worked as a Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist, in settings ranging from clinical, hospital based programs to high end health clubs. Through this experience he strengthened his understanding of form, function and appropriate exercise prescription. With a strong background in Exercise Physiology from the University of Minnesota, and a life long passion for the martial arts, Pilates became a very logical and appropriate career direction.

In 1997 Doug studied at The Pilates Studio of the Midwest in Chicago and was certified to teach Pilates by master teacher, Romana Kryzanowska. (At the studio, he met his future wife, Alicia) After certifying he could combine his fitness background and his extensive knowledge of anatomy, to bring a cutting-edge clinical approach and physical challenge to his Pilates teaching. Both clients and apprentices benefit from this special blend of knowledge and expertise in their experience with Doug. We could not be happier to have him on staff at Body Endeavors!
