Body Endeavors was founded in 1997, and is conveniently located at the intersection of Halsted and Clyborn. Our current list of services includes Pilates, Metabolic Testing, Massage Therapy, Personal Training, Nutrition Consultation and weight loss programs. In addition to offering the finest in Pilates Private sessions, Semi-Private sessions and group classes, we are proud to be the Affiliate Training Center for the Power Pilates Teacher Training programs.
Our studio is equipped with the following:

Street Parking is available in the neighborhood on both Halsted St., Clyborn St. and all side streets for no charge. You may also park inside the LaSalle Bank parking lot (located on Clyborn St) for 90 minutes for $3 with a validation sticker, or bring your car to the carwash next door to the studio for the time of your session. They will take $3 off your carwash if you mention that you are a Body Endeavors client.
Public Transportation is easily accessible. The North Ave. and Clyborn Red-Line "L" stop is a block North of our location, while the North Ave. and Sheffield Brown-Line stop is about 5 blocks East of us. Busses available are the #8 Halsted St., and the #72 North Ave.
All of our staff; Pilates Instructors, Massage Therapists, Nutritionists and Personal Trainers are experts in their respective fields. Our Pilates Instructors have met the highest standards of any program available today for training. They study Anatomy and Special Cases and are proficient on all Pilates exercises on the Mat and apparatus from Beginner to Advanced. Continuing Education is required on a regular basis. Our Personal Trainers, Massage Therapists and Nutritionists have also been through rigorous training and education, and update their skills regularly through continuing education. All staff is able to work with all ages and fitness levels.
Liv Michele Berger - STUDIO OWNER/DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMING
Liv has been teaching and practicing Pilates since 1993. She was born and raised near Berkeley in Northern California. She received her BA in Dance from the University of California at Irvine and has resided in Chicago since the Fall of 1993. After studying extensively with the Master-Teacher of Teachers, Romana Kryzanowska, and completing a Massage Therapy Certification she opened Body Endeavors in 1997. In 2002 she affiliated with Power Pilates in NYC to bring to Chicago the finest in Teacher-Training programs available in today’s market.
Today, Liv is a Pilates Instructor, Teacher-Trainer and Massage Therapist in addition to owning and operating four studios in the Chicagoland area. Body Endeavors, plus 2 Power Pilates Studios located inside Equinox Fitness Clubs). She currently employs some of the most skilled Pilates instructors, Massage Therapists, Personal Trainers, Nutritionists and Weight-loss experts in Chicago. Liv has personally awarded Training Certificates to hundreds of Pilates Trainers around the country through the Power Pilates training program. She is strongly committed to the teaching of Classical Pilates and providing the highest quality in health and fitness related programs to as many people as she can reach.

Mindy Hahn, LDN - DIRECTOR OF NUTRITION
Licensed Dietitian Mindy Hahn joined the Body Endeavors team in 2007 to help complete our approach to health and weight-loss programming. She believes that nutrition needs to be personalized, accessible and practical for it to be effective. Mindy's approach takes into consideration the unique needs of the individual and their lifestyle, and does not promote fad diets. Her objective is to help her clients make gradual improvements in their eating habits and maintain them as a part of a day-to-day routine. Not only do clients get great results from this approach, but they will reduce their risk of obesity linked conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
In addition to her work with us at Body Endeavors, Mindy is also an adjunct faculty member at the College of DuPage where she lectures on nutrition topics, and teaches heart healthy and diabetic cooking classes. Mindy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Benedictine Illinois University in Lisle, IL. We are thrilled to have someone with Mindys' skills and expertise on our team at Body Endeavors.

Jessica McCloud - ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR
Jessica graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BFA in Theater Communications in 2004. While attending school Jessica managed two Barbara's Bookstore locations, (both at Navy Pier) where she fine-tuned her skills for management, marketing/advertising, accountability and patience. Jessica and Body Endeavors studio-owner Liv Berger began to work together in 2006 when Liv employed Jessica as Manager of the Power Pilates studio at 900 N Michigan Ave. It didn't take long before Jessica's great organizational and people skills helped her to receive a promotion to work at Body Endeavors as the Assistant to the Director. In addition to her employment at Body Endeavors, Jessica is a consistent Pilates student since being diagnosed with 2 herniated discs in 2002. Her ongoing Pilates experience and managerial skills make her a valued and knowledgable addition to our support staff!

Mike Knollenberg - MUSCLE ACTIVATION TECHNIQUES SPECIALIST
Mike Knollenberg has been in the fitness industry for over 12 years. He graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Exercise Science. Mike began his career in Chicago as a Personal Trainer, Educator and Health and Fitness Director for Fitness Formula Clubs. After 8 successful years, he left Fitness Formula and founded Train Smart Fitness, a fitness and wellness organization which has served Chicago since 2004. Mike's continuous quest for education has now led him to become a major advocate and provider of Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT). MAT is a revolutionary new process for correcting muscle imbalances, and is the foundation to physical wellness which allows Mike to advance his clients' potential beyond their expectations.

Luis Caro – PILATES INSTRUCTOR/PERSONAL INSTRUCTOR
Luis has taught Classical Pilates and Personal Training in Chicago since 1997 and received his certificate through the Power Pilates Teacher-Training program at Body Endeavors in 2003. He has worked alongside Studio Director - Liv Berger, for the past 10 years and is reliable and highly skilled. Luis holds a BFA from Butler University and has taught Dance at Columbia College and the Chicago Academy for the Performing Arts High School. He finds that he is able to compliment his Pilates Training with his additional experience in dance and Martial Arts as well as reliable sources of exercise science. Luis is a strong believer in Continuing Education in all forms.

Becki Christy - PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Becki's introduction to Pilates came to her through dance training. She has found Pilates to be the most complete and the healthiest system of movement she has experienced. Becki completed the Power Pilates training program at Body Endeavors in June 2004 and currently teaches at Body Endeavors as well as at the Ritz Carlton and Peninsula hotels. Additionally, Becki received her B.A. in Public Policy from DePaul University and soon will receive a 2nd B.S. in Nutrition and her M.S. in Oriental Medicine at Midwest College of Oriental Medicine to become a licensed Acupuncturist.

Linda Shellberg - PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Linda has studied dance for most of her life. While working for Chicago Public Schools, she developed and directed a state-funded program to teach dance and creative movement to her at-risk students. Linda’s interest in Pilates grew from her dance training, but after studying Pilates in depth with Liv Berger at Body Endeavors, she realized that the benefits of Pilates extended into all aspects of her life. She decided to put her background in teaching to good use and share her passion for Pilates with others. Linda received her Power Pilates certificate in November of 2004 and currently teaches at Body Endeavors and Equinox Fitness Clubs.

Anna Duvall – PILATES INSTUCTOR
Anna Duval received her BFA in Modern Dance from Ohio University before moving to Chicago in 2003. She decided to pursue her interests in becoming a Pilates instructor at Body Endeavors, and completed the Power Pilates Teacher-Training program in September of 2005. Anna is actively a member of Perceptual Motion Dance Company and performs in Chicago and Ohio. She brings energy and spirit to her work as a Pilates instructor, to provide fun and invigorating workouts for her clients.

Barbara Katz – PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Barbara is a life-long resident of Chicago. Prior to a career in educational publishing, Barbara was a zookeeper! She discovered Classical Pilates in 1996 while searching for a non-invasive method to address her lower back problems. When asked now if Pilates has helped, Barbara will emphatically tell you, “Pilates gave me my life back!” Seeking to share with others what Pilates has given her, Barbara left the corporate world and has dedicated herself to Pilates full-time. She completed the Power Pilates Teacher-Training program at Body Endeavors in 2006, and works as both a Mat and Apparatus instructor on staff.

Sarah Elizabeth Schaub - PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Sarah’s lifelong love and study of dance and movement began as a student of classical ballet in Toledo, Ohio. While studying at the University of Utah, Sarah majored in ballet performance and launched her professional dance career by joining the Nevada Dance Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada. After suffering a back injury, Sarah obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of Toledo. In 2004, she moved to Chicago where she continued to dance, and turned to Pilates to help increase her strength, stamina, balance and flexibility. Sarah quickly fell in love with the classical Pilates method, and completed the Power Pilates Teacher-Training program at Body Endeavors in 2006. She loves to share the joy of movement with others through her teaching, and to help them heal, achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles.
